August started with a bang. My mother in law Frances celebrated her 80Th birthday with a surprise birthday party.
There were about 50 guests attending. She was totally surprised, we told her we were planning a little something. She was expecting some family, she had no idea everyone would be there, except Bob and Marion her son and daughter in law from Austin, TX. She mentioned a few friends from church she would like to be there.
There were a lot from Church. She also had a childhood friend there and her husband from Tehachapi, Ca. She's known her since she was 10 yrs old. Also a wonderful family friend and her daughter came from Snohomish, WA., just for the party they had to turn around and go right back home. Dan and Julie were so excited to know they were coming, these were friends they grew up with, when the Flemings lived in Seattle. Frances was in shock when she saw them. The look on her face was worth everything.
I was hoping she would get at least 80 cards. I sent out emails to everyone saying to please send a card even if they couldn't attend. Well, we got close she received 68 cards.
That's the way the month started. It was a wonderful start to a very busy month.
